How do you correct an IRS Form 2290 that has been rejected?
Form 2290 rejection can happen to anyone.
The IRS typically rejects returns for one of three reasons:
- The Business Name entered does not match with the EIN listed in the IRS database.
- The Bank Routing Number entered in the Electronic Funds Withdrawal (EFW) payment option to pay your HVUT is invalid.
- The return is a duplicate of a previously accepted return. Typically, this is because either the EIN or VIN is incorrect.
